"We just knew."

Some "Eve" Tidbits & Musings:

-- This episode was originally titled "Girls from Greenwich."

-- Part of the episode takes place in Greenwich, Connecticut -- Mrs. Mulder's neighborhood. "Teena" must be a very popular name in that part of the country!

-- The date stamp on the pathologist's report that Scully is reading about the first death is November 7, 1993.

-- The producers initially looked for twins to play Cindy Reardon and Teena Simmons in Los Angeles (the Olsen twins were considered), but child-labor laws are such that flying the children to Vancouver in light of the limited number of hours they are allowed to work during a day would have made the show almost impossible to do. As a result, the show had to employ local talent in Vancouver and was fortunate to find Erika and Sabrina Krievins.

-- Teena and Cindy are named after the wives of producers Glen Morgan and Jim Wong.

-- We see the Lariat bumper sticker for the first time in this episode.

-- The line "I am her and she is me, and we are all together" is a reference to a lyric from the Beatles' song, "I Am the Walrus."

-- As Mulder and Scully question mother Ellen Reardon, Eve-girl Cindy Reardon watched a few moments of "Eek the Cat," a cartoon that later went on to depict Mulder and Scully in cartoon form.

-- Oopsie! While looking for the girls at the truck stop, Scully and Mulder pass the school bus that the waitress mentioned; you can hear the voices of children, but there don't appear to be any children on the bus.

-- Sally Kendrick/Eve is played by Harriet Sansom Harris. Just a month before her appearance in "Eve" the actress made her first of 11 appearances as Frasier Crane's cutthroat agent Bebe Glazer on "Frasier." Recently, she's best known as the evil Felicia Tilman on "Desperate Housewives." In one of those bizarre "Six Degrees of X-Files" connections, Harris's character on "Desperate Housewives" is the sister of the murdered Martha Huber, played by Christine Estabrook, who played Agent Henderson in the XF Season 1 episode, "Young at Heart." (And of course, Felicity Huffman (Lynette on "DH") appeared as Dr. Da Silva in the XF Season 1 episode, "Ice.")

-- Actress Tasha Simms, who played Ellen Reardon, also appeared in Season 2's "Excelsius Dei" as Stan's daughter and in Season 3's "Avatar" as Skinner's attorney.

-- Actor George Touliatos, who played Dr. Katz, also appeared in the Season 2 episode "Blood" as Larry Winter.

-- The band Eve6 took their name from this episode.

-- A slide show, Mulder glasses, and "po-TAY-to, po-TAH-to." A very good Season 1 episode.
