She feels the warmth even though the flesh beneath his gown is still cool. This will be evident the next time, but this time in this precious moment the heat flows through her with ease, as if their arteries had been grafted together. She has no word to describe the depth of her emotion, but she is crying hard.

She'd thought herself cried out three weeks ago. Too much, she'd shouted to the empty rIt's ancient history now. As his heart beats beneath her cheek, she savors the first warmth of the season.oom. It was all too much, but as she has another life to consider, she'd called off the crying in her child's name. Scully was determined that he or she would not see the heartbreak. Another sad child would not be Mulder's legacy.
